Homework 10: Zoetrope

The wiring of this project is very confusing, but I believe I get it. However, it doesn’t work for some reason 🙁 . Here is what I have:

Nothing happens after I press the button. The 9v battery is brand new so it’s should not be the power issue and the circuit should look correct. This is how my circuit looks like:
